Happy Year of the Rooster!

Happy Chinese/ Lunar New Year everyone! It's a huge celebration from where I come from (Malaysia) and it is a celebration to usher in the new year according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. There are 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac for each year and this is the year of the Rooster. The legend of the Chinese Zodiac comes from the story of the Great Race where the Jade Emperor (the supreme ruler of heaven in Chinese mythology) decided to host a race where the order of the zodiac would be based upon which order the animals finish in.

~this year is more specifically the Fire Rooster year
~the Rooster has been said to be the same family as Pheonixes
~according to legends, the dragon borrowed its legs from the snake and antlers from the rooster, hence, the rooster crows everyone morning to ask the dragon back for its antlers
